Achille
1 yrs, male, Mixed breed: Newfoundland and Belgian Sheperd (Dog)
Italy, Firenze
|
|
| Nicknames: |
Chicchi, chicchi di canino, pippi, 'chille, achi. |
| Bio: |
Got quite randomly from a friend who couldn't keep him due to an unexpected work shift, we welcomed Achille when he was around 3 months old. Actually, at the beginning it was a temporary 'accomodation', but after a couple of weeks Achille became ours, 'officially' let's say. He was born in the middle of august, year 2008. We're pretty sure he's a mixed breed between Newfoundland and Belgian Sheperd (we never knew from the first owner). If you got any clue, help me :p |
| Character: |
Joyful (a LOT), playful (even more), loves people and always looking for company. Not so obedient when taken out for a walk, but we're working on that. Hates cats, peacocks, cocks, horses, let's say every animal but dogs. Barks a bit, especially to people with hats or umbrellas. Oh, and he can't stand runners or bikers. On the other hand, he adores children. |
| Peculiar marks: |
A big tail! |
| Name story: |
Unfortunately, when we got him, he was named already =) By the way we think the name is absolutely appropriate for him (Achille in italian, would be Achilles in english of course). An important name, for sure |

I love every moment spent with him. The best moment was actually when we knew we could keep him forever and he would have been our pet. As for other funny situations: when i took him out one of the first times to meet a friend's dog, way bigger than Achille. He was absolutely scared and was always looking for shelter between my legs. Also, his first meeting with the sea. I thought newfoundlands liked swimming (Achille has webbed paws), but maybe not everyone! He swimmed a bit thou, he just didn't seem so excited, but it was funny seeing him completely wet. |
| Embarassing moments: |
I can't remember any! |
| Worst moments: |
He excaped once, and we even didn't notice. When a woman walked him on a leash to our home we didn't realize at the beginning: she told us he was in a nearby square, after some kids on bikes. Funny, indeed, but worried too! On another day, we couldn't find him: we thought he was excaped again. Fortunately he was in a courtyard, behind our house, chasing peacocks and roosters |
